How We Live
The community of La Chicayota is a place with great opportunities to discover the Sinaloa´s essence throughout its history and admire the vestiges left by our ancestors: the beach called "The Labradas”, which hosts a ceremonial complex that harbors more than 600 petroglyphs of diverse designs and sizes, all of them between the sand and the ocean waves.
This community shows you what the daily life of the community is. Some of them are engaged in agriculture, mainly tomatoes, peppers and cucumber. Fruit trees are grown traditionally. These include: guava, papaya, orange and banana. The harvest is done regularly, with women in charge of collecting the fruits. These are allocated for family consumption and shared with neighbors and other family members helping to strengthen social networks.
